Purpose in the Waiting

We're waiting for Baby Lukas to arrive, and I am 100% in full-on nesting mode. Waiting for this baby -- I feel like a young kid again waiting for a birthday party to start. It could be mine, but it could very well be any of my siblings'. We all pitch in and work hard and hurry up to clean the house, make everything look nice. We prep all the food, make sure all our toys and games are where they should be. I specifically would make sure my room was ready for my cousin Leah and all the fun things we were going to do while she was at our house: notebooks, gel pens, CDs -- it's all set! I ask my mom what time the first people are coming. And then -- I wait. I stand at the front window, leaning against the sill, kicking my feet up behind me in anticipation. When will the first car turn the corner and park in our driveway When will they be here?? Everything is ready -- it's so hard to wait!  That's how I'm feeling about Baby arriving.
